Elissa Slotkin: Oligarchs’ Favorite Democrat in Cosplay

Posted by

·

It’s getting harder and harder to pretend Elissa Slotkin is anything but what she is: a career bureaucrat shilling for oligarchs, cosplaying as a Democrat while selling out the very people she claims to represent.

This week’s absurdity came straight from Slotkin’s own mouth. In an interview with Politico (as reported by Mediaite), Slotkin argued that Democrats need to stop attacking the oligarchy and instead worry about shedding their “woke” reputation. – Mediaite, April 25, 2025

Yes, you heard that right. In an era where billionaires are hoarding wealth at levels not seen since the Gilded Age, while the rest of us are struggling with basic needs, Elissa Slotkin wants the Democratic Party to stop talking about the problem. According to her, we shouldn’t call it an oligarchy — it’s just “kings” now. Apparently, we’re supposed to ignore the rigged system and focus on making Democrats seem less “woke” because her feelings were hurt in a few purple counties.

Slotkin’s position isn’t some fluke. It’s part of a pattern of her betraying Democratic goals while gaslighting voters into thinking she’s “pragmatic” and “realistic.”

A Record of Betrayals

1. Opposing Medicare for All and a Public Option Expansion

Slotkin made headlines during her first congressional campaign pretending to support expanding healthcare access. But in practice, she opposes both Medicare for All and meaningful public option expansions. Instead, she cozied up to health insurance industry donors, raking in cash from the very corporations bleeding working families dry.

2. Voting Against Student Debt Relief

When Biden proposed student loan forgiveness, Slotkin was nowhere to be found supporting it. In fact, she signaled her opposition to large-scale debt relief early on, framing it as “unfair” to people who had already paid their loans. Conveniently ignoring the generational theft caused by skyrocketing tuition and predatory lending.

3. Helping to Water Down Corporate Accountability Legislation

During her time in the House, Slotkin worked to weaken parts of anti-corruption legislation that would have clamped down on corporate lobbying and dark money. She always frames this as “protecting small businesses” — but in reality, the beneficiaries are multinational corporations and the billionaire class.

Who Is Elissa Slotkin Really Serving?

Let’s not pretend this is about political “realism” or “purple state strategy.”

This is about preserving the system that got her into power — a system built on revolving doors between intelligence agencies, corporate boards, and government posts. (Remember: Slotkin is a former CIA analyst who transitioned seamlessly into cushy corporate gigs before running for office.)

She isn’t fighting for workers, students, renters, or the poor. She’s fighting for the donor class. She’s exactly the kind of politician who ensures that nothing ever fundamentally changes, even as the planet burns and inequality soars.

Slotkin’s newest suggestion — that Democrats should stop criticizing oligarchy and just “retake the flag” with “Alpha energy” — is pure marketing jargon cooked up to cover cowardice. She’s not interested in taking on Trumpism at the roots. She’s interested in rebranding the same rotted-out Democratic Party that let Trump rise in the first place.

Final Thoughts

Slotkin will no doubt keep positioning herself as a “moderate” hero while undermining every progressive goal that actually matters. But we should see her clearly for what she is:

A loyal servant of the oligarchy, dressed up in Democrat cosplay.

Michigan — and the country — deserves better
