From Ulta to El Salvador: Nancy Mace’s Descent into Fascism and the Fight to Reclaim America

When Representative Nancy Mace verbally attacked a constituent in an Ulta store for asking a simple, democratic question—“When will you hold a town hall?”—she wasn’t just having a bad day. She was revealing the rot at the core of her public service: contempt for accountability, disdain for her constituents, and alignment with cruelty over compassion.

This incident was captured and shared by a community member:

After the encounter, Mace doubled down by releasing a video in which she described her own voters as:

“Some of the nastiest, ugliest people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Just completely evil.”

Let that sink in. An elected official, whose salary is paid by the people, responded to democratic engagement by calling her constituents evil.

And it gets worse.

In a grotesque and globally condemned act, Mace recently appeared in a press video filmed in front of shackled, skeletal prisoners in El Salvador’s notorious mega-prison—a site rife with human rights violations. Many of these prisoners are legal U.S. residents, who have been kidnapped and trafficked by this administration—ripped from their lives and sent to die in a foreign hellscape.

U.S. legal residents deported to El Salvador are being detained in prison conditions described as torturous, in facilities internationally denounced for human rights abuses.

Nancy Mace didn’t go there to intervene, investigate, or advocate. She went to pose. To smile. To glorify state violence and manufacture a fear-based narrative for political gain. These were not criminals. These were human beings. And she used them as props.

This is state-sponsored human trafficking, whitewashed for a camera, and cheered on by someone who claims to represent the people of South Carolina. The historical echoes of fascism, internment, and genocide are no longer subtle—they are deafening.

And Mace’s cruelty doesn’t stop at borders.

She has built her political brand on open hostility toward transgender Americans, routinely using her platform to misgender, dehumanize, and spread dangerous misinformation. According to GLAAD’s Accountability Project, Mace has:

  • Voted against the Equality Act, which would provide federal protections for LGBTQ+ people.
  • Repeatedly mocked and misrepresented trans children and their families, claiming that gender-affirming care is “child abuse.”
  • Supported efforts to ban trans youth from sports and criminalize healthcare access, aligning herself with a movement of extremist politicians targeting LGBTQ+ existence.

This isn’t policy. This is targeted harassment.

Mace and her ilk are not “conservatives.” They are not patriots. They are not leaders. They are ghouls. They enjoy watching others suffer. They have no joy of their own, so they seethe with hatred at those of us who do. They are angry at our communities, our joy, our love, our resilience. They are angry at our power.

They are un-American, and their actions reveal their true aim: to destabilize this country, destroy its institutions, and silence the voices of those who still believe in freedom, dignity, and justice.

Mace has refused to attend community-organized town halls, calling her constituents “paid agitators” and labeling democratic engagement as “fake news.”

These people must be driven out of American politics—not with hate, but with relentless, righteous resistance. We must organize, mobilize, vote, and hold every one of them accountable. We must drown out their cruelty with solidarity, with moral clarity, and with the unshakable will to protect our neighbors.

We must demand better. We must demand change. And we must save this democratic republic from the hands of these deadly dangerous ghouls—before it’s too late.

America isn’t theirs to destroy. It’s ours to defend.
