This Presidential election is very personal to me. It’s a choice between President Barack Obama, who believes that marriage equality should be legal and that people like me, deserve equal protection under the law and Mitt Romney, who does not support marriage equality and, in fact, does supports a Federal Marriage Amendment to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman and, in doing so, plans to legally divorce married gay couples through said act! He has personally donated money to the National Organization for Marriage, a hate group as defined by the Southern Poverty Law Center and has said that it would be a “burden” if the Employee Non-Discrimination Act is passed and businesses can’t fire people based on their sexuality. Learn more about Romney’s position on equality here.
Call me a single-issue voter; that’s fine. But this isn’t just an “issue”… it’s my life. I won’t sit back and let Mitt Romney demonize me, my family or my friends. If you’re on the fence, or if plan to vote for Romney, just know that a vote for Romney is a vote against me, my family, my friends and my future. (Adapted from Voters For Equality)
