Please Vote for ME in 2012!

I have a serious political inquiry for all of my Facebook friends and family.

If you care about me and my future, I hope you will vote for ME this November. By this I mean vote for the candidate who will do the most to support my right as a citizen to have the same freedoms and privileges as others (marriage, employment non-discrimination, etc.) I hope you will vote for President Barack Obama.

I ask this because I have noticed many of you have “liked” either Mitt Romney’s or Paul Ryan’s Facebook pages (and in many cases both). I want to assume you’ve done so in order to stay informed of their inconsistencies and blatant falsehoods.

But I am concerned that some of you have “liked” those pages because you believe those two men are fit to lead our country into the future.

I am sorry. Those two men are not. If they have their way we will be hurtled backward socially. According to Ed Gillespie, senior adviser to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, Romney believes a federal marriage constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage “should be enacted.” This would annul all same sex marriages across the U.S. through the passage of a Federal ban. Don’t believe me? Watch him say so here at ThinkProgress.  Paul Ryan has already voted for a Federal ban on same sex marriage… twice, in 2004 and in 2006.

I could go on, but I don’t see a need to. Simply put, Romney and Ryan will do everything within their power to limit my freedom to love and to benefit from the same Federal and State rights that heterosexual couples have benefited from for years.

So please. If you care about me, please vote for ME this November by voting for President Obama. If you don’t, tell me why. I really want to know why you would vote for men who would work so hard to take away “the pursuit of happiness” from an entire community.
