Mississippi Lawmaker Suggests Gays Should Be Put to Death

Below is the email I just sent to Mississippi State Representative Andy Gipson, following the news I read on Towleroad about his horrifying Facebook comments; suggesting gays be put to death as written in his bible.

Mr. Gipson,
I am writing to ask what makes you think that your opinion of homosexuals or your assertion that they should be put to death (as you suggest from the quoted biblical passages) is right?
To hear people in position of power spew these vitriolic inaccuracies is both hateful and harmful.
As a gay man who is perfectly healthy, disease free, well respected, in no way harmful to children and contribute to the growth and success of American culture by the work I do.
I am just one example out of millions proving you wrong.
I suggest you read the response from Unity Mississippi showing, with proven research, that you are wrong.

It is my hope that you change your ways and publicly apologize for your words and actions.
Sincerely,
W. Thomas Adkins
